WINE PORTFOLIO
It is generally accepted that the best examples of Australian Riesling are produced from fruit grown in Watervale in the Clare Valley. The Lengs and Cooter Watervale Riesling has been sourced from the same dry grown vineyard for the last seven years. The vineyard is 18 years old, and crops at around 3 tonnes to the acre.
The soil is red loam over limestone, and the vines were planted at three-meter spacings with the standard single cordon, and spur pruned. All pruning and harvesting is carried out by hand.
The 2004 Riesling has all the hallmarks of a classic Watervale Riesling, the nose displays limejuice aromas and is dry with only about 2-3 grams of residual sugar.
