Hillside Shiraz
The new Hillside vineyard had its beginnings in 1992 when cuttings taken from the 100 year old gnarled vines of Block 6 were planted on the eastern hillside of the Amery Vineyard. Further plantings of the Block 6 clone took place in 1993, 1997, 1998 and 1999. These plantings have been an outstanding success consistently producing superb quality grapes for the winemaking team to turn into equally superb wine and the 2002 Hillside Shiraz continues this great tradition. The vines yield 2.5 tonnes to the acre.

The Hillside Shiraz 2002 was aged for 28 months in American oak barriques & hogsheads. This wine is powerful and complex with dense rich red black color, sweet mouth-filling berry fruit and spice characters with a lingering finish enhanced by fine tannins. Cellaring time: 7 years plus with good cellaring.
