Great lifted pepper and spice nose. Big, plum cake richness and fruit. A big wine which flows so easily across the palate. Fruits of the forest. Licorice intermingled with chocolate and plums and leather complexities. All these characters are integrated so that every time you lift the glass another something comes to mind. The wine oozes class. It is elegant but intense. It is ripe, but not jammy. It is soft, but also persistent. It should cellar extremely well. This is a limited release wine from 40 to 50 year old vines. Aged in a combination of all new French (30%) and American (70%) oak hogsheads.
