This old vine Grenache was sourced from a ‘remnants’ vineyard which was planted in 1908 in the Blewitt Springs/Clarendon area. Opaque black purple color with deep purple/mauve hue. Superb nose of violets, raspberry, cherry and spice followed by hints of confectionary and licorice. The palate is relatively tight, but will blossom with time. The style is classic refined Gibson. The voluptuous characters are held back in favor of elegance with force. Flavors of raspberry, cherries and violet infusions are meshed with superfine tannins and very long aftertaste.
