This is one where all the grapes are from our own vineyard, which has 15 clones and is now 18 years old. It is our estate wine, if you like, and is what, in 1998, we misguidedly called “Reserve”. The three-trophy haul at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show including one for Best Wine of Show was later affirmed with a Gold Medal at the Small Winemakers Show and inclusion in Philip White’s Advertiser and James Halliday’s Australian top 100’s. The wine is from a low yielding vintage and is therefore quite concentrated. It’s likely to improve for five or so years after which time it will sit on a plateau for perhaps another five.
