One of the icon vineyard Grenache in the Chateau Chateau series, from the Tscharke Family vineyard in the Marananga area of the Barossa. Marananga is red wine country. Rich, deep red brown earth with complex arrays of elevation and aspect. Grenache always shows deeper color when grown in these soils, with less spicy perfume and more dark berry richness, along with hints of dark chocolate. The result is a big, beefy masculine expression of Grenache. The wine is made using exclusively old wood, with an emphasis on expression of fruit and no intervention.

The label artwork, Magic Window, is by Hungarian artist and protégé of M.C. Escher, Istvan Orosz. The wines in the Chateau Chateau series are works of art in every meaning of the word, except the price.
