The wine is a delicious blend of Grenache (45%) and Mataro (55%) grown in the Ebenezer area at the top of the Barossa Valley. The vines are 25-45 years old and are among the best of their varietals in the entire valley (Russell knows everyone in the area and they all like to sell him their top stuff). The wine is aged in older French and American oak hogsheads and spends two years in wood. This is a limited production wine, which will improve dramatically with time in the cellar.
