Here is the first release of R Osé, a Rosé made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on David Hickinbotham’s 15 year-old Clarendon Vineyard. The 2006 growing season started with a cool spring with good rainfall followed by a moderate Summer broken up with a brief warm period in January. This provided good ripening conditions that allowed grape maturity combined with the good natural acid balance appropriate to a rosé styled wine. This is a great rosé and a totally fitting way to introduce the first release of this wine. The quality can be viewed as a preview to the upcoming red wines from R using fruit from the Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard.
