Buckshot Vineyard, in the Heathcote area of Victoria, was named for its soil, ancient sedimentary rock with pebbles or ironstone and quartz. Rob Peebles makes the Heathcote Shiraz and Square Peg from Shiraz grapes grown on the property, some from vines that are 50 years old. Yields are extremely low, one or two tons per acre. He ages both wines in a combination of French and American oak barrels.
