Rusden
The Canute family’s property was a respected source of grapes from the Eastern Barossa Valley Floor. Then young Christian Canute began turning fruit from the estate —Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, even Zinfandel—into terrific wines under the Rusden label. The vines by and large are mature, with modest yields. Among the best known are Black Guts Shiraz, from very low-yielding 47-year-old vines, and Christian Chenin Blanc, which spends six months in French oak, on lees.
