Red Edge is located in central Victoria, in the Heathcote region, about 100 miles northwest of Melbourne. The vines, grown in ancient red volcanic soil, yield only one to one and a half tons per acre. Peter Dredge makes old-vine Shiraz and a very limited amount of Cabernet—only 100 cases of the 2004 vintage were produced—as well as Degree, a Shiraz with fruit from younger vines.
