Loan Wines has two distinctions: It is on historic ground, the second farm to be planted in the Barossa Valley back in the nineteenth century, and it is the only certified organic vineyard in the region. The vines, planted in the 1990s, are not irrigated and yields are low, 3 tons an acre or less. Chris Ringland is the consulting winemaker to owners Richard and Jessie Loan.
