Glaymond Wines is a new venture from the Tscharke family, long important growers in the Barossa Valley. Damien Tscharke uses fruit from 40-year-old vines on the family’s estate for his two 100% Shirazes, The Distance and Distinction; a Shiraz-Mataro blend called Landrace; and a 100% Grenache called Gerhard. Younger Cabernet vines from the Tscharke property go into asif. These wines are produced in small quantities and aged in various combinations of new and old French and American oak.
