The Shiraz that celebrated winemaker Chris Ringland produces for his own label, formerly Three Rivers, uses fruit from his own small Stone Creek Chimney Vineyard, in the Barossa Ranges. The vines are nearly 100 years old. Yields are minuscule—one ton an acre—and production is correspondingly low, 60 to 100 cases a year. As Robert Parker wrote, “This is arguably the greatest Shiraz made in Australia,  but sadly there is little of it.”
